Hot Sauce Contest #3

Our latest meeting of the Finer Things Club brought us once again to Saigon In & Out, but at their new location on State St (off of Guiterrez St., not Victoria St., Elena and LeAnne!).  As you recall, our first convergence at Saigon lead to a battle of wits and taste buds as Candace claimed the victory in the first Hot Sauce Contest.  The next Battle Royale was seized by Jodi (possibly thanks to a head cold that wiped out her senses--ALL of them).

Which brings us to Wednesday, September 2, 2009, when Candace, TK, and Jodi met face-to-face once again, each followed by their own entourage.  Candace was quick to take command with Brittany Myles acting as moderator to keep each contestant in line.  The sauce flowed gratuitously at first, but then began to stall as TK collapsed into a withered pile beside a potted bamboo plant.

The final two noshed delicately as not to run out of Pho before the last drop of hot sauce was doused. But in the end it was Candace that reclaimed her former victory as Queen of the Fire Breathers!  In an exclusive interview from her hospital room, Jodi stated, "I'VE BEEN ROBBED!" as she faded in and out of consciousness.  Do I smell a rematch?
